A Place that is Supportive & Inclusive

The Community Development Team is here to help residents get involved in their community. We support residents in setting up groups – either to socialise, learn new skills, or debate issues.

We also assist residents who would like to get involved in volunteering work, either at our base in The Forum, at 10-12 The Fold, or elsewhere in the community.

We organise local events as well, such as the 3 Estates Festival, in the summer, and the Winter Arts Market.

Assisting us in this work is a team of enthusiastic volunteers, without whom we would be able to achieve much less.

On this page you will be able to keep up to date with our projects and activities.

FIT FOR PURPOSE

From 16.07.2009 to 31.03.2010

Fit 4 Purpose is a project funded by Kings Norton 3 Estates. It is a tailored package of support for 10 voluntary and community groups, to help secure their future and the contribution they make to the regeneration of the area.   Fircroft College of Further Education, in partnership with South West Birmingham Community Association deliver this project.

V FIT

From 01.04.2009 to 31.03.2010

Kings Norton New Deal for Communities V Fit Project will engage with up to 90 residents on the 3 Estates to support them towards and into formal volunteering placements. This project will build upon the best traditions of volunteering nationally, developing skills and creating opportunities for all those involved. It will contribute towards creating a legacy that will sustain the benefits of the New Deal for Communities programme and enrich individuals and communities across the area. The 3 Estates has a strong tradition of volunteering, and it is essential that the creation of a larger volunteer workforce builds upon, enhances and complements that activity and tradition.
